White or Moline Forklift Support – Revisited

Some habits die hard.

It was approximately 33 years ago when I answered a help wanted ad for a parts person at what was then one of two White forklift dealers in Minnesota. After a short interview my career in lift trucks had begun. What a long strange trip it’s been.

My partner today was the guy that hired me then, and one of our technicians working at TLM today at the time worked at the other White dealership in town. My point is, we’re still around even if the manufacturer isn’t.

Each year it gets a little hard to find more and more critical parts, but through inventory purchases and some clever sourcing we’ve done what we can.

We published a similar post back in October of 2009, but with my MLT/TLM anniversary just a few months ago, I’ve been reminiscing about the past years, recalling our fondness for the old line.

I first started at this company 28 years ago, [hired by the same guy after the recession in the 80's], the company then was known as Minnesota Lift Truck, today our name represents our primary line, but we’d like to remind everyone that we are still your best hope when it comes to finding parts for that old Moline, White or Mobilift that might still limp into your shop.

  1. I have a White Mobilift msb series forklift. We need to replace the clutch. I believe the parts needed are 35a7709 and possibly 35a8268. We might need 2 sets? Gaskets? Let us know what else we might need. It grinds when starting to move.

    • I believe you’re not going to find the parts are no longer available new. When I started selling parts back in the late seventies the truck was already long out of production. Contact our parts department at 800-523-0611 and ask for me. I’ll put you in contact with parts for an exploded view of the area. Further if you need technical advice I can have you speak to one of our techs who worked on those units years ago.

  2. This message is for Kyle Thrill, I have a customer with a White Fork Lift Model unknown tag is missing, first where on the machine can I find the model?
I am looking for the guide ring inside the lift cylinder.
The numbers I got off the cylinder is 20-3003094 under there is number ex889.
I can take a picture of anything you may need to help me id the internal parts for the cylinder. When customer disassembled the cylinder they must have misplaced the guide ring, We completely rebuilt the cylinder and are ready to assemble it. Now we cannot do it with out the missing piece.
If you think you have this item can you give me a price and availability?

    • Lee I hope you found the diagram helpful. It isn’t one of the better types that White provided. I might recommend you call Monday and ask for Dave our resident experts with White. Dial 800-523-0611 and ask for Dave in parts.
