Material Handling and Conveyor Systems

Conveyor belt systems are the single most common piece of material handling equipment integrated into an engineered material handling system. Material handling conveyor systems allow quick and efficient transportation for a wide variety of materials throughout a facility.Toyota Lift of Minnesota offers many types of conveying systems determined by application and client needs.

Visit a modern distribution center or manufacturing facility and you’re likely to find miles of different kinds of conveyors moving cartons, totes, pallets, components, work-in-process and finished goods from one area of the facility to another.

Selecting the Right Conveyor System

Several factors are critical in the accurate selection of a bulk material handling conveyor systems, thus it is imperative to have a clear understanding how the conveyor system will be used. Our design engineers work with our clients to map out the exact needs and project specifications before making a determination on the exact conveyor system. Once the project scope is determined we will design a conveyor system that is best of breed, taking the best products from various manufacturers and integrating them into a seamless system designed to meet the specific application. Our conveyor systems and conveyor controls use top-shelf technologies and integrate them into flexible, low-maintenance systems, including; gravity conveyor, powered roller conveyor, belt conveyor, pallet conveyor, 463L pallet conveyor, vertical conveyors, sortation and controls.

Some of the most popular conveyor systems for our customers include:

Power Conveyors

Sometimes referred to as live rollers, power conveyor systems are ideal for moving boxes and other large inventory efficiently around a facility. Power conveyors use belts to propel these items so they can be used in facilities with multiple levels of space. For example, a warehouse with a mezzanine benefits from a power conveyor, as employees no longer have to attempt heavy lifting while going up and down stairs to transport an item. Additionally, power conveyors can be used for unloading trucks on an assembly line and for packaging purposes.

Gravity Conveyors

Rather than relying on man-made power sources to propel items, these conveyors utilize a resource that’s readily available and free — gravity. Gravity conveyors are cleverly designed to take advantage of the laws of physics and for that reason, they cost much less to operate over time than any powered system. Utilizing a series of wheels that are mounted to an axle support system, gravity conveyors are ideal for unloading trucks, packaging and shipping applications.

Roller Gravity Conveyors

Businesses that need to move a large range of irregularly-shaped objects can make great use of roller-gravity conveyors. Propulsion for this type of conveyor largely depends on the way it is set up within a facility. If the system is level, it will take a manual push to get items moving. On the other hand, businesses may elect to set up their conveyor at uneven elevations, allowing gravity to do the work of moving items from point A to point B.

Whatever the application, Toyota Lift of Minnesota has the experience and resources to complete any project on schedule and on budget. “One Project, One Vendor” is the philosophy that has made us a leader in turnkey material handling conveyor systems.
